This course explores a exciting new approach to mixing colour while providing an introduction to painting in oils using solvent-free water soluble oil paints.

We’ll cover some important colour principles as they relate to mixing colour, pigment characteristics, useful materials, tips and techniques.  You will be introduced to a simple and intuitive method to mix a full range of colour using a limited primary palette and develop skill and confidence in matching colours from life. Putting it all together, we’ll develop a monochromatic underpainting and paint a reproduction of a Group of Seven style landscape.

If you desire to paint in oils, to become proficient in colour mixing and to take your art to the next level, this is the class for you. So simple and so simply astonishing, I believe you’ll agree, it’s magic!

*A fairly new development in paint technology, water soluble oil paints look and act like traditional oils but can be thinned and cleaned up with water. For glowing transparent glazes, rich shadows, and outstanding colour mixing and blending qualities, water soluble oils provide all the advantages of oil painting with no smelly and potentially harmful solvents!
